                                                            San Gennaro Feast

This past month the Las Vegas Outreach Team (LVOT) headed back to the San Gennaro Feast for the sixth time to share the Gospel. This event is a big team outreach that requires fifty-four hours of manning a “Good Person” booth. The big job is coordinating enough evangelists to fill every hour of the event. This starts with a sign-up on the LVOT website about six weeks before the event.

This time the event was blessed with over eighteen different evangelists who came from eight different churches. The churches that were represented came from First Baptist Church of The Lakes, Trinity Life Center, Calvary Chapel Spring Valley, Peace of The Gospel, Calvary Chapel Green Valley, Church of the Way, Calvary Chapel Henderson, Victory Outreach, and Calvary Chapel Meadow Mesa. Even though this was a good turnout of evangelists, the total number of evangelists was down from the May 2009 Feast. Still the Lord provided enough volunteers to fill each time slot for the event.

The blessings and fruit from this event were great. It is estimated that during the six days over 7,500 tracts were handed out. And although it is impossible to know for sure, it is estimated that over 400 people listened, as we shared the Gospel of God. On the first night of the event, the gospel was shared with a self-proclaimed atheist, who came back the second night to talk some more. There were also many people who heard the gospel and in their conviction allowed the evangelist to pray over them for a new birth and perseverance. But the most unexpected blessing was how the Holy Spirit moved on two ten-year-olds who joined in the work of sharing the gospel. Hanna Paddack and Christina Wong came to the booth two nights and passed out tracts to over fifty different people. For many of the veteran evangelists, the sight of these girls was an encouragement. Now these girls have asked to be trained to share the full gospel message to people. Praise the Lord, our work is never done!

Also for this San Gennaro we completed a video to let people see some of the people how the gospel is shared and some of the people who came out faithfully over the six days.

                                                                                                                  "Origin Species" Outreach

One of the biggest mission fields in the country is the college campus.  It has become a major mission field because the enemyis working hard to make the students think there is no God.  The first step the enemy has taken to affect the mind of the students is through the professors.  The Harvard Divinity School conducted research to look at the religious beliefs of professors on college campuses, and the results surprised some.  Almost a quarter of the professors claimed to be either atheist or agnostic.(1)

Because of this, students are being indoctrinated by false beliefs.  This is evident by the quote from a recent article in the Kansas State Collegian Online which said,

"Several members in the group, Individuals for Freethought, said they came to their beliefs through classes exposing them to in-depth scientific theories, philosophical ideas and historical findings."

Caitlin Brown, senior in interior design, is also a member of the group.

She said she agrees with the concept that education plays a significant role in nontheism among college students, but also said self-exploration in college was another contributing factor.

“Many of [the members of Individuals for Freethought] came from religious backgrounds, but didn’t swallow what we were taught,” she said.

"Many students leave home and step into a more diverse atmosphere of values and beliefs," Brown said, "because they have reached a place where they have the opportunity to explore their own ideas."

It is sad to realize that professors and students are being influenced by a book that was created for the sake of denying the existence of God and to promote racism.  Most people would not know this unless they were to read the entire title of the book; Origin of Species, By Means of Natural Selection, Preservation of Favored Races In the Struggle For Life.

Watch the video below to see why the Las Vegas Outreach Team will hand out the book Origin of Species to students on the UNLV Campus.

For this reason, the Las Vegas Outreach Team plans to head to the UNLV Campus on Thursday, November 19th to hand out a thousand (1,000) copies of the book the "Origin of Species".  We will begin this outreach at 8:00 am and continue throughout the day until all of the books are gone.  We will meet first at the Einstein Bros Bagels on 4626 S Maryland Pkwy., across the street from the UNLV campus.

Please pray that God will bring those to us who need to read the evidence of the theory of evolution, its history with racism, and the gospel of God.  If you are interested in coming to hand out the books then please sign-up below.

                                                                        California Road Trip

Many people who do outreach in Las Vegas have been challenged, trained, and encouraged to be fishers of men by the same ministry.  These individuals have been affected by the ministry of Living Waters and the "Way of the Master" program by Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron.  Because there are so many in Las Vegas that have been encouraged the Las Vegas Outreach Team Coordinators have thought it would be good to say thank you to them.

On Saturday November 21st, those who want to go can join the LVOT Coordinators for a Southern California Road Trip.  We will meet at 6 am in the Las Vegas Fry’s parking lot, 6845 Las Vegas Blvd South, and then leave from there by 6:15 am. We will join Ray and the rest of his team, as we head out to Huntington Beach Pier to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. In the early evening we will drive back to Las Vegas with the hope of arriving back home around 11 pm.

Apple Festival in New Harmony, Utah

On Saturday, October 10th, the Las Vegas Outreach Team went to New Harmony, Utah for the annual Apple Festival.  New Harmony, Utah is a little community between St. George and Cedar City, Utah and sits about seven miles off from I-15.  The invitation to go to the Apple Festival came through Andrew Osborn, the head of the Men's Ministry from the Red Hills Baptist Church of Cedar City, Utah.  Andrew and his brother, David, are both volunteer firemen for the New Harmony Volunteer Fire Department.  The Apple Festival is held each year to raise money for the fire department so that they can purchase and maintain the equipment that is needed to protect the community from fire.  This was a very significant festival since, a forest fire earlier in the summer claimed thousands of acres and a few homes.

For this outreach, I was joined two of my children, Logan and Victoria, along with Michael Cooper and Tom Zavatsky.  We arrived at New Harmony around 2 pm and were able to get the booth set up in about forty-five minutes.  That gave all of us some time to check out some of the apple growers items, and even purchase some of the best apples I've ever tasted.

Even before the event  started at three o'clock, there were many people who came by the booth to take the intelligence test.  Soon it became clear that the majority of people we would talk to that day would be from the LDS church.  There were many wonderful conversations and there were also some people who were very upset with the gospel we were preaching.  In fact, an elder from one of the LDS churches became furious when he heard that we were claiming that Jesus Christ was God and only faith in him provided life outside of an eternity in hell.  He looked at Tom Zavatsky and said, "How dare you, come to our little community and say such wicked and hatefull words."

One interesting thing we saw, is that the people from the LDS church were coming from two different wards and the beliefs between these wards were different.  The people from one ward said, that Jesus Christ was God while the people from the second ward said that Jesus Christ was not God.  Soon it was easy to determine which ward an individual was coming from so we could mover the conversation based on this evidence.

By nine p.m. the festival was over and we were able to tear down our booth, and then also help some of the other vendors pack up.  Praise the Lord for all those we shared the gospel with and pray for all those seeds to produce fruit until eternity.

"Origin of Species" Team Outreach                               Nov. 19th       Thursday      8 am - 4 pm                                         UNLV Campus

Meet at Einstein Bros. Bagels (4626 S. Maryland Pkwy. at 8 am)

This Team Outreach will give out 1000 copies of the “Origin of Species” on the UNLV campus November 19th, 2009. It would seem weird that the outreach team would give this book away, but this copy is unique. It contains a fifty page introduction that talks about Charles Darwin, the faulty science that is used to support evolution and the racism that has stemmed from this theory by people such as Adolf Hitler. The Las Vegas Outreach Team is planning to give away 1000 of these books on the UNLV campus. We will meet first at the Einstein Bros Bagels on 4626 S Maryland Pkwy. across the street from the UNLV campus.

Prayer Concerns

Pray that the Lord will clarify when we are supposed to hold the Way of The Master class for the pre-teen and teens.

Pray that the Church of Las Vegas (all born-again believers in Las Vegas) will come together to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, and the ends of the world.

Pray that the Church of Las Vegas will experience personal revival amongst the brethren.  That they will see repentance in all areas of sin, that the brethren will be overwhelmed by the presence of God, and people will be swept into salvation through the moving of the Holy Spirit.

Pray that the pastors over the Church of Las Vegas will be obedient in sending their flocks to go and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Financial Praises
